About Raymond Nylund

Raymond Nylund was a self-taught painter who made the first artistic explorations as a poet and who 25 years ago started painting. Since childhood, he was aware of his singular curiosity and intensity. He had a glimpse of where that could bring him when he attained Black-belt degree in martial-arts, after eight years of training. He was aged 19 then.

His first artistic influence, when he was still exploring poetry, was Khalil Gibran. However, soon after he started drawing, he got in touch with the work of great painters, like Van Gogh, Picasso, and Kandinsky and his perception skills grew stronger. He knew there was more in reality than what is perceived to our five senses, something that can only be communicated to others through an artistic medium.
